Globalization Services (GS) – SAP Language Services (SLS) is responsible for translating all SAP products worldwide, including Corporate Content collateral and Global Marketing. SLS outsources the majority of its translation work to small and midsize translation service providers (also known as Language Suppliers). Internal SAP employees at SLS support this outsourcing strategy by providing a range of technical infrastructure and tools, planning information, quality guideline, and monitoring to enable Language Suppliers worldwide to deliver translation of nearly 40 languages.
We are looking for one (1) post graduate student that would like to learn about and gain localization experience through internship program at SAP. The internship would last 6 months with option to extend to one (1) year.
In your role, you will be working to provide operational support within the SAP product translation delivery teams. The teams handle translation requests of software User Interface and documentation for ERP and SaKP (Solution and Knowledge Packaging) products. The service teams have hubs in China, Canada, Germany, and Japan. You will work closely with the teams in China and Japan.
Objectives:
• Work with ERP-based products (SAP Content Management System) to prepare XML-based translation packages and execute follow-up steps after SAP Language Suppliers delivered the translation
• Perform technical analysis of translation material (SDL Trados Studio 2014)
• Create and/or maintain process documentation
• Perform technical spot-checks on deliverables
• Provide operational support to the products service delivery teams
• Perform goods receipt verification on Simplified Chinese document delivered by language suppliers
Requirements
• Willingness to learn and quick to understand
• Business level oral and written communication skills in English
• Presence of at least 3 days in office needed, preferably Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
