Project Engineer Position in Freescale Shanghai

The Microcontroller Group is the most critical and exciting part of Freescale. The organization is responsible for the definition and drive next generation 8, 16, 32bit MCUs, Wireless Connectivity and MPU Solutions. The team has responsibility for roadmaps, IP libraries, new derivatives, and SW solutions. The team is built to support a world-wide and dynamic customer base over a large base of customers serviced through OEM and distribution/ channel accounts.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Program Management team with charts in support of project review and core team meetings.
• Participate in project core team meetings.
• Support setting up new projects.
• Assist Program Management team on tracking of project resource, schedule and financial estimates.
• Support Program Managers and team members with Program Management tools and processes. Work with Program Managers to help resolve issues/conflicts related to Freescale Program Management tools and processes.
• Support teams locally as well as in other regions, including team members located internationally.
• Prepare graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate project KPI’s, metrics, status and forecast requirements for management reviews.
• Support Project Manager in contingency and change order management.
• Develop, maintain and drive ongoing commitment to integrated software & hardware development and delivery according to the project plan and schedule.
• Drive cross organization/intra- & inter-business org program deliverables / solutions for software and hardware projects.
• Work with core product team to translate customer requirements into software & hardware product requirements
• Track progress, report status and make necessary corrections to achieve all project goals.
• Ensure all project documentation is kept up to date and communicated to the team on a timely basis.
Requirements:
• Bachelor or above degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with MS Office suite, and expert in MS excel.
• Strong organizational and personal communication leadership skills.
• Must be a self starter/self driven to work independently with assigned global project peers.
• Ability to interface with people at all org. levels.
• Quick learner, strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude.
• Systematic and well organized .Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to “think outside the box” while identifying problems and developing creative solutions.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Experience with Resource database management (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with SQL, Agile, and SAP databases is a plus.
• Experience in Open Source software like Linux and Android / IDE / SDK/ RTOS is a plus.
