Function of the Position:
Performs a variety of routine chemical analyses on drug substances to determine chemical composition and purity. Selects appropriate established method or procedure to perform analysis and recommends minor modifications.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Performs routine chemical analyses reference standard materials to determine the chemical composition and purity of substance. Makes necessary comments and explanations for the test results.
Selects appropriate established methods and procedures for testing by considering the chemical identity of the sample, its physical state, and the type of data required. Conduction of reference standard continuous suitability use test.
Performs routine statistical calculations.
Refers unusual observations or data to supervisor; recommends minor modifications to established procedure, or the use of an alternative.
Prepares a written reference standard evaluation report for review by the supervisor and senior technical staff.
Follows standard operating procedures and instrument procedures.
Documents notebooks according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in chemistry, Analytical chemistry, pharmacy or related field (Bachelor's degree requires at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience).
KSAs and Training and Experience:
Practical knowledge of chemical principles, theories, and practices, and a working knowledge of common analytical methods and procedures, including skill in calibrating and operating analytical instruments such as spectrophotometers and chromatography equipment.
Takes personal responsibility to ensure work is delivered on time and is the highest possible quality.
Excellent technical writing skills in English.
