    Jeanette Rotchell,女,英国赫尔大学水生态毒理学教授。1996年毕业于英国Glasgow Caledonian大学获博士学位。长期专注于水环境毒理学、遗传毒理学和内分泌干扰效应等方面的研究,并在该领域享有一定的知名度,发表了大量的专著和文章。曾连续主持SETAC欧洲年会分会和美国病理水生生物模型大会分会。担任Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry, Marine Pollution Bulletin, Fish Biochemistry & Physiology, Toxicology & Environmental Health, Marine Environmental Research, Chemosphere, Environmental Science & Technology, and Aquatic Toxicology等杂志的审稿人,并受邀担任美国新西兰基金会、新西兰国家研究基金会、英国NERC研究基金会等评审。
报告简介:
It is well accepted that endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) interact with the endocrine system affecting the health of humans and wildlife. Such chemicals are a diverse group of compounds that can bioaccumulate and biomagnify in different organisms. In the aquatic environment, endocrine disruption in invertebrates has received less attention compared with fish yet it is apparent that invertebrates do take up and bioaccumulate such chemicals and they are sensitive to endocrine disruption at environmentally relevant concentrations.
To determine the biological effects of such compounds in an invertebrate species, M. edulis have been exposed to estrogens and sewage effluent extracts. Their effect on vitellogenin (VTG), estrogen receptor 2 (ER2), serotonin receptor (5HT) and cyclooxygenase mRNA expression at different stages of the reproductive cycle, and the wider implications, will be discussed
