Senior Unix System Administrator
Job Descriptions:
Silicon Image is seeking a IT administrator with broad technical knowledge and understanding of enterprise LAN/WAN networks, routing and switching principles, Linux and Windows server administration, and storage administration . The candidate should be responsible for
Responsibility:
Provide IT infrastructure support for server, software, network, backup, storage, and data center systems.
Repond to internal customer requests for technical support in a timely manner. Use good communication and customer service skills resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.
Actively participate in the protection of sensitive information by implementing and enforcing security policies by applying the principles of network and data security.
Work with IT vendors for procuring products and services. This will involve specifying, quoting, comparing, validating, and purchasing solutions under the direction of IT Management.
Create and maintain documentation for inventory, diagrams, project and capacity plans, support and maintenance contracts, and reports to IT Management.
May be required to work occassional off hours for maintenance tasks and meetings with international team.
Requirement:
5 years of experience in a senior systems administrator role
Hands on experience managing Linux systems. Familiarity with HP, IBM and Sun hardware. Must know Redhat or CentOS Linux. Must be able to administer kickstart, NFS, and NIS.
Familiarity with Netapp, Semiconductor EDA applications, Flexlm license manager, NIS, shell scripting.
Window server administration, Active Directory, permissions management.
Basic datacenter management such as organizing layouts, understanding electrical and cooling capacity
Virtualization experience with one or more hyper-visors such as VMware, KVM, Hyper-V. Must demonstrate familiarity with implementation and providing support expanding a virtual infrastructure
VERITAS storage and backup product support is must
The knowledge of AD/VPN/Lync
Quanfumis is needed
The ability of trouble shooting about network related problems
Excellent written and spoken English
Experience as a team leader desirable.
