Job Description for Software Engineering Intern
Role & Responsibility:
The qualified candidate will join Intel DEG (Datacenter Engineering Group) – as a Software Engineering Intern. He/she will participate in server management software development for Intel server products and innovative solution POC (proof of concept) for the future generation of server and rack products. The major responsibilities include (but not limited to):design, develop and debug manageability software solutions as well as co-work with various other functions (e.g. BIOS, ME, validation) and cross-geo teams per needs. High performance candidate may also get the opportunity to manage small-scale project or innovation initiativesindependently after practices.
Qualification:
The candidate must have software development and testing experience in the past so that he/she will gain reasonable level of understanding on the technical content of the project, which is critical for him/her success in this position. Key skills and knowledge include (but not limit to):
- Experience of embedded Linux development, including kernel, device driversand applications.
- Good programming and debugging skills in C/C++, JavaScript (node.js, JSON), RESTful web services, etc
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and experience in network programming
- Experience of SD/MMC driver development is highly expected in some projects
- Knowledge of video compression and experience of codec development are highly expected in some projects
- Knowledge or experience of graphics driver development would be a good plus
- Knowledge of IPMI, DCMI protocols and server management would be a good plus
The candidate should also demonstrate following skills and capabilities:
- Quick learningability to ramp up in the project timely.
- Great passion on assigned job and task, and have good teamwork spirit.
- Excellent time and priority management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment sometimes.
- Good English and Mandarin communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to be able to coordinate/interface with team members and stakeholders.
The candidate must be a graduate student(研究生),able to commit the internship for at least 6 months from 2014 Dec to 2015, and be available in Intel office at least 4 days per week.
