Position: Firmware (BIOS/BMC) QA Engineer in Shanghai x86 Revenue Engineering group
Essential Functions: Firmware quality assurance. The main responsibilities include:
- Review design specifications and write test plans, create/improve/automate test cases
- Execute test cases, analyze test results, file bugs and verify bug fixes, and provide test reports.
- Co-work with the other engineering teams to reproduce and debug issues.
- Improve test tools, test environment, test process, test effectiveness, and test efficiency
Marginal Functions: The candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Software whitebox/blackbox testing and test automation knowledge
- Worked with Linux/Solaris/Windows (familiar with at least one of the OSes)
- Familiar with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Pylom/Python, tcl, expect, and shell script
- A Team player who is proactive and willing to learn and progress
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skill in both Chinese and English
- BS degree or higher in CS/CE/EE
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of BIOS/BMC quality assurance
- Knowledge of x86 server architecture, Intel processors, I/O protocols and devices, IPMI specification, I2C protocol, SMNP, PET
- Knowledge of test infrastructure and IT environment
