PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Helps evangelize a user-centered design (UCD) process throughout company. Works with teams to help them improve the overall user experience and to streamline aspects of development process related to the GUI. Ensures UI specifications are completed in the design phase and is responsible for user experience throughout product lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduate level training in:
- Human Computer Interaction;                    - Industrial / Art / Multimedia Design
- Human Factors;                                          - Computer Science / Software Engineering
- Cognitive Psychology;                                - Other related discipline

2. Required:
- Experience in translating user data and human-factors principles into UI designs via prototypes, and detailed UI reviews/specifications.
- Experience with developing user profiles, use cases, and scenarios. Have experience with two or more formal UI evaluation and requirements analysis methods (e.g., task analyses, field studies, formal UI reviews, usability tests, and surveys).
- Demonstrated ability to learn complex technology.
- Knowledge with HTML, CSS and Web2.0 is a plus.
- Experience with IDEs, system/DB administration tools, B2Bi, EAI, and enterprise software will be a plus.
- Must be a solid team player with good writing, presentation and time management skills. Must be able to work effectively with teams to prioritize UI issues and review the results of user research.

ABOUT SAP USER EXPERIENCE:

As part of the SAP User Experience organization led by Dan Rosenberg, User Experience China team was founded in July, 2005. This team is responsible for improving the holistic user experience of SAP products and applications, including usability, desirability, consistency, emotional factors, cultural and organizational factors, etc, thus help taking the design of SAP’s Business Suite, Industry applications, and especially Business User applications to the next level of design excellence.
The current focus is on the strategic product Performance Optimization Applications (POA) Suite and Business ByDesign, a fully integrated business management and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution designed for midsize companies or small businesses. POA includes not only SAP home-grown applications but also heterogeneous applications from SAP acquisitions. The team is responsible for innovating how to integrate these heterogeneous components into one seamless application experience for executing closed loop scenarios, thus support business users’ heterogeneous work styles and provide a harmonized and revolutionary user experience.  In Business ByDesign, by using pattern based design method, the team helps various business models to reach a high level of consistency in user experience, such as PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), SCM (Supply Chain Management) and SRM (Supplier Relationship Management), etc.
In the mean time, User Experience China team also helps define SAP UX standards and guidelines for next-Generation BI applications to ensure the consistency across BI products and harmonization between BI product line and other SAP products lines.
