Description
Job Description: Responsible for developing multiple aspects of graphics software, display driver development and simulation environment development. Works with various partners to enhance and improve graphics performance on upcoming processor graphics devices by analyzing performance issues in software drivers and applications, implementing software performance improvements, and recommending future hardware & software improvements. Also responsible for providing internal and external feedback to implement upcoming graphics features in yet-to-be-released OSes to ensure our hardware and software will function and perform as expected on next generation platforms as well as designing/developing/implementing graphics system-level software for future platforms.

VPG (Visual and Parallel Computing Group) SW has a long-term plan to build a graphic SW competency center in China and we have a goal to help Intel establish its graphic brand in China and to help Intel win the adjacent market segments (e.g. tablets) with our Core graphic capability.
Intel is looking for Graphics Media Software Engineers to join us on the latest & future media technologies on processor graphics for a family of Intel core products. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
-Develop high performance software modules for video Codec and video processing in C/C++/assembly language
-Performance analysis and tuning for media driver on various Intel platforms running different operating systems e.g., Windows, Android and Linux
-Building and maintaining strong relationships with software and hardware design and validation teams as they relate directly to your development/technology
-A self-starter with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team across multiple sites
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
You must possess at least a Bachelor degree, or a Master degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent in the areas below:
-Experience in media/video software development; fair understanding of video compression standards;
-Experience in C/C++ programming and familiar with Visual Studio and/or Linux/Android development tool chain;
-Solid understanding of operating systems kernel and runtime; Experienced in programming with system APIs;
-Ability to understand and/or interpret graphics/media driver requirements and designs based on hardware, operating system or industry specifications;
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills;
Preferred Requirements:
-Experience in kernel/user mode driver programming in mainstream OSes, such as Windows, Linux or Android
-Experience in DXVA and/or popular Linux/Android media framework
-Experience in performance analysis and tuning
-Experience in compiler front-end development |
