eBay Search Science and Traffic is building world-class research and engineering teams in Shanghai, focusing on analyzing vast amount of user behavior data. The team’s work will directly impact eBay revenue by improving both search quality and internet marketing performance.
Job Responsibilities

We are seeking data mining analysts to perform data extraction and cleansing, statistical reporting and data modeling work. This is an exciting position, which provides the candidate an opportunity to solve web scale and high impact business, using big data processing techniques and statistical analysis methodologies.
•        Work with engineering, analytics and business partners to support search and marketing optimization.
•        Research, design, develop and optimize metrics for performance evaluation and modeling.
•        Study the interaction among a group of metrics by conducting correlation, regression and other modeling effort.
•        Perform on-demand metrics calculation and analysis work.
Job Requirements
•        Bachelor or MS degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent is required for this position.
•        Experience in data mining or statistical analysis is preferred, with basic understanding of descriptive statistics, regression, classification and clustering, etc. Familiar with Excel, SQL, R or SAS.  
•        Hands-on experience with big data processing, e.g. Hadoop, is preferred. Familiar with Java, C/C++, Python or other programming languages.
•        Good communications skills, both verbal and written in English and Chinese
•        Attention to detail and data accuracy.
•        Quick learner, self-motivated and passionate.
