Job Title: Sr. Backend Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will work as part of our Analytics Platform Development team to create exciting new analytic products for Big Data. He/She will:
        Develop High performance data processing and analytics code using Java, Python and applicable frameworks. This will entail working on Hadoop and related technologies.
Work with data scientist on Big Data to create predictive and prescriptive analytic solutions.
Mentor junior engineers.
Use best practices in software development.
Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit.

Desired Skills and Expertise
        High proficiency in software development, specifically in the Java and Python languages.
        Have excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
        Knowledge of parallel algorithms and high-througput systems.
        Good knowledge on build tools preferably Maven/Ant.        
        Experience with database and ETL highly desirable.
        Broad knowledge of relational OO and database design Familiarity with web-based product development.
        Excellent leadership, team handling and client interfacing skills.
        Strong English written, verbal, and comprehension skills required.
        Exposure to Agile development methodology.
        Experience with Hadoop technologies is desirable.
        Knowledge of J2EE, SQL, SOAP/REST WebServices, Spring, Hibernate, JSON, MySQL, Unix/Linux. Education
A Bachelor’s degree with a major in CS, CIS, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of two to five (2-5) years development experience.
